Azt mondták, hogy nem érdemes oda „elugrani”, mert ez egy egésznapos program. Persze nem hittem nekik, mert ha Davit iskola után ott lógott az osztálytársaival (akik jellemzően a szomszédok is voltak), akkor bizonyára két óra alatt én is végzek a tbiliszi botanikus kerttel. Csakhogy kiderült, hogy hiba van a fordítással, mivel nem létezik „botanikus erdő” fogalom.
Kissé illúzióromboló, hogy az iskolások nem a földközi-tengeri, himalájabeli, japán, észak-amerikai, szibériai, törökországi flórára voltak kíváncsiak tanítás után, hanem a szülői szemek elől bújtak el ide.
The first mention of the Botanical Garden, formerly a Royal one, dates back to 1671. The one we can visit nowadays was officially opened in 1845. On the area of 128 hectares the Garden protects more than 4500 plant species. The river Tsavkisi water divides the garden into two parts. Few bridges cross the river and there is also a high water fall. The botanical garden is nice to see on every season of the year, it , with its plants creates a kind of oasis in the middle of the city enabling the population to enjoy going out into the nature without leaving the city.
